oOo COTSWOLD CANALS TRUST SCORES A NATIONWIDE FIRST Our Chairman Bruce Hall has received a letter from British Waterways confirming that the Trust has achieved the standard required and is now accredited as a "Self Supervising Volunteer Organisation". I am told that we are the first in the country to be so accredited which is quite an achievement. We shall have to advise BW of our work activities by way of a quarterly programme with anything out of the ordinary discussed and agreed at least a month beforehand. BW say that we could not have reached this stage without the excellent work and sheer hard graft of our Health & Safety Director Keith Lloyd over the last 6 months or so. I know how much all this has taken out of him so I would like to say well done Keith and, on behalf of all of us, thank you. oOo ARE YOU A RESIDENT OF THRUPP, BRIMSCOMBE OR CHALFORD? Then read on! oOo CARDS FOR SALE(S) Mention was made in a recent edition of our intention to accept plastic at Saul Heritage Centre. WATER TERRIBLE THOUGHT The ENews Special Edition just issued was, I admit, a weighty tome but a really important one nonetheless. I urge you to plough through it because the future of the water supply to the eastern end of the Thames & Severn restoration could be at stake. FANCY A PINT? Then come along to the next Western Branch Meeting upstairs at the Fromebridge Mill, Whitminster, on Monday 2nd April for 7.30pm. |
