OOo WHAT'S HAPPENING There's a Work Party scheduled for Sunday 15th April, organised as ever by Alan Jones, at St Mary's Lock near Chalford. This could be your last chance to contribute to the wonderful achievements of Alan's team in this area as he anticipates moving further along the canal shortly. The next WAG (Work Action Group) meeting is on Tuesday 17th April at the Heritage Centre, Saul starting 7.30p.m. Meetings discuss the restoration as a whole and Work Parties, all interested volunteers are welcome. The next Eastern Branch meeting is on Wednesday 18thApril at the Trout Inn, Lechlade. Both meetings will undoubtedly discuss the new trip boat season, especially the ongoing need for crew. The Connect website has details of where there are vacancies in both rosters, if you can help or would like to receive some training please contact the relevant Activity Leader direct from the site. oOo I SEE EI SEY HAS CHANGED The Waterway Recovery Group Camp is now scheduled for the period 28th July to 4th August which is a change to the date previously advised. oOo ROADSHOW ROVINGS We are entering the busy out and about season for the Trust's travelling Heritage Centre, the Roadshow, and it's not too late to for you to offer some help, please. If you can be available for any of these then Mike Slade is your man, mrmike.slade@googlemail.com oOo WHAT A WEEKEND The Easter weather was responsible for the Trip Boat season getting off to a cracking start with 'Inglesham' at Lechlade operating over the 4 days and 'Perseverance' at Saul over 3. oOo SOME LIGHT READING FOR YOU The Cotswold Canals Conservation Management Plan (CMP) has been released in draft format and is available for download at oOo CHIPPING AWAY BW is hoping to arrange a weekend work party for the 28-29th April in the Frome Gardens, Ebley area. Details are still to be finalised but it's likely to involve chipping and brash clearance following recent extensive tree works. oOo HEATER REQUIRED NOW THAT SUMMER IS HERE We are looking for a smallish heater for the Western Depot stockroom at Eastington. The experts tell me that ideally we need a night storage heater, 1.5Kw maximum 2Kw of the slim line variety. oOo Back |
